No wonder it couldn't all fit into the box. He who helps says it is really good not having to walk over the fabric every time he goes into the sewing room.
This morning, I have cleared a pile of paper from the computer desk...
It is now completely clear!
I sat in front of the TV one wet afternoon with my box of scraps and I ironed them all flat, sorted them into colour families and threw out those that I deemed to be too small to use. What had been an overflowing bin of scraps became much smaller and as it is colour sorted, much more usable. It was either do that or throw the lot out!
